The emission nebulae Sh2-150 and Sh2-145 in Cepheus are quite faint, even for the f 2.2 RASA. Sharpless 150 is ionized by two stars, 26 Cep and HD 213405, the brightest blue stars above the nebula in this image. Sh2-150 is accompanied by the blue reflection nebula vdB 154 and is surrounded by both dark and bright nebulae.

Sh2-150 (the elongated red object) lies about 2900 light years away in the constellation Cepheus. Regarding vdB-154 (the blue object at right) there was very little information available about either object. There is also a fan-shaped reflection nebula RNO142 and PGC97271.

Visually near to Sh2-150 is the reflection nebula VdB 154. Its distance is not yet known, therefore is not possible to claim that there is a physical link between both nebulae. Some dark clouds also can be seen on the image (see the annotated mouseover).

SH2-150 (Sharpless 150) SH2-150 sits next to a very large nebula known as SH2-145 but is the brighter of the two. The nebula responds fairly well with the hydrogen-alpha filter but is rather faint, so you will need quite a bit of exposure time to capture a good clean image.
