Rifle Scopes - SHTF LPVO? | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jul 3, 2020 · FWIW: My go to SHTF is the Leupold Mark 6 1-6 with the TMR-D. The reticle is a basic, simple to use milling reticle just as fast as a red dot with the illum on, more than functional with the illum off. Being front focal, the "Dot" portion of the reticle blows out of the way at higher powers allowing you to use the reticle for what you need.
Shtf barrel | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jun 5, 2022 · My SHTF M4 has a Rainier Arms Select 14.5" barrel. It's lightweight, and ridiculously accurate with 55gr ammo. Haven't tried anything heavier, as I mostly shoot LC XM193 and Tula 55gr steel. Both shoot sub-MOA at 100 yards. Rainier builds a hell of a barrel.
What is the ideal SHTF optic? - Sniper's Hide
Apr 7, 2024 · My SHTF (more like truck gun) setup is a A2 carry handle held on by nylock nuts then jam nutted. You absolutely need a cresent wrench to get that bastard off. Then a regular A2 post up front. Its always ON, doesn't need re-zero after a bump, doesn't need cleaned or treated any different than the rest of the rifle.

Night Vision - SHTF rifle | Sniper's Hide Forum
Apr 29, 2020 · Hi everyone I’m asking for suggestions I’m building a 12.5 inch ar15 pistol for SHTF I’m stuck on what optic to run I plan on using night vision and IR laser setup but can’t make my mind up on running a eotech red dot with Magnifier or going with a LVPO with a offset RMR or a holosun 508T v2 any...
.22lr for SHTF? | M14 Forum
Jan 5, 2025 · Assassins like suppressed 22 pistols for dispatching their prey with one right behind the ear, what I’ve read. So yes a 22lr is perfect for SHTF backed up by bigger calibers for serious work. They say, 22lr is also perfect for barter, almost being a currency. My SHTF calibers are 22 lr, 223, 308, 9mm, 10mm, 45 apc 12ga 00,5-6, 8, and slugs.
SHTF Carbine: What Trigger Would YOU Use? | Sniper's Hide Forum
Aug 1, 2020 · A SHTF Rifle / carry dose not need a light trigger, 3.5 lbs is light enough and I personally would want 4lbs. Laure would be my first choice. It is a good trigger that is made of bar stock, not MIM and it’s priced right. While MIM has worked, it is not something that I would want.
Suppressors - Anyone use a suppressor for self defense shtf?
Jan 16, 2010 · Re: Anyone use a suppressor for self defense shtf? 7 yards is the accepted legal distance for the use of lethal force against an assailant armed with an edged or impact weapon. Reasoning is that the assailant can cover that distance and do damage to the shooter in slightly more time than it takes a proficient shooter to draw and fire.
Lpvo recommendations for shtf rifle | Sniper's Hide Forum
Feb 13, 2021 · For a truly SHTF scenario, I would strongly prefer an etched reticle option that has a bold enough aiming reticle that doesn't require illumination to pick up effectively. I would also stick with a 6x max for the best optical performance.
50 bmg mag fed upper | Sniper's Hide Forum
Dec 30, 2021 · Anyone have any experience/opinions on the Safety Harbor 50 bmg uppers? Accuracy and otherwise? Seems like the cheapest option for getting a mag fed 50 bmg but I've seen very little talk about them.
