I don't know any way to view or "DeCompile" the SHX file to SHP. There is supposed to be a DeCompile Tool in Express Tools, but it's a DOS Command and I haven't a clue how to use that. Dave

The .shx files exist in the correct location (C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2021\R27\eng\Support.

Sep 4, 2018 · It is misleading to describe the shx as being an "index." Instead, it is the direct access offset file. There is no data in the shx, only a clone of the first hundred bytes of the shp (with the length block in bytes 24-27 sized for the shx length) followed by record number and offset to the starting byte of that record in the shp.

Once you have the SHP file, the COMPILE command inside AutoCAD does the rest: look up it's usage in HELP. >>>...I'd like to add a few shapes to the standard ltypeshp.shx file...<<< You probably should make your own instead of trying to edit a core shx file.

Mar 23, 2021 · La otra rutina "fndshape" encuentra las referencias al archivo, elimine los tipos de línea referenciados pero alguna capa mas debe tener alguna referencia oculta y no me permite eliminar el *.shx Por ultimo probé "Superpurge" y elimino el shx y sus referencias, muy bueno.

Jul 25, 2012 · If the SHX files are fonts, you need to ask the file creator to provide you with these SHX files along with the DWG files: if you are the creator, then you left these SHX font files behind somewhere and you need to bring them along to LT2013. SHX files can also be shape files (used in custom linetypes): same rule applies above.

I've seen fonts with many more than double passes, such as this: which come out nice and bold and solidly-filled if the lineweight assigned for plotting is enough to close over the space between the passes. [That one is actually called Bold.shx.]
