2019年3月1日 · In this study, the Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) technique is used to detect BO2 radicals in the gas phase above heated ZrB 2 and ZrB 2 -20 vol. % SiC samples in air, in order to provide an in situ and real-time monitoring of their thermal oxidation. Samples are heated up to 1923 K in air flow with a 2 kW CO 2 laser.

Studies involving heating in thermogravimetric analyzer have shown sharp mass increases at 740 and 1180 °C for ZS, and mass gain till 1100 °C followed by loss for HS.
