The Delaware (SSN 791) is the 18th Virginia-class attack submarine and the seventh United States Navy ship named for the State of Delaware. The contract to build her was awarded to Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding on Dec. 22, 2008 and construction began in September 2013.
