On 18 March 2009, it was announced that the Scotland Today branding would be phased out as part of a major station revamp, on Monday 23 March 2009, the nightly news programme was relaunched and renamed as STV News at Six. Devised by Bruce Dunlop and Associates in conjunction with STV's in-house creative team, this new look was launched across Scotland on 23rd March 2009. The design takes the simplicity of the triangles of the Scottish saltire and merges them with images of people and places from the breadth of Scotland to create a fresh, clean design.
