2013年12月17日 · The no dash 4516 had a stepped frame, dual recoil springs, thinner slide with a rib along the top and flash chromed hammer and trigger. It is the lightest in weight of the 4516's. The Smith & Wesson rollmarks were twards the muzzle with the "four line" aft of it on the slide.

2006年6月16日 · The S&W 4516 is the compact version of the S&W4506. The 4500 series is what as referred to as: Third Generation. I do not own a 4516 but do own a 4506. The 4506 is extremely reliable and accurate. There are those that do not like the traditional DA pistol design.

2022年7月26日 · If you search 4516 versions or variations, or 4516 4516-1 4516-2 you can probably find threads with more details. The later -2 versions had a dual recoil spring like the 4513TSW and the 4013TSW using a smaller diameter guide rod.

2017年9月29日 · I prefer the 4516-1 to the similar size Detonics compact 1911 probably because I like the S&W semi-auto action (back to the original 9mm pre-39s) and safety better than carrying a 1911 cocked and locked.
