SAVI SCOUT ® is designed to help treat early-stage breast cancer patients who choose to have a lumpectomy or excisional biopsy — a diagnostic procedure in which the whole tumor is removed and tested — where the tumor is not able to be felt by hand.

This early phase I trial measures the effectiveness of a diagnostic device called the SAVI SCOUT Reflector to detect and mark the location of breast tumors in breast cancer patients where the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body. The SAVI SCOUT is a new surgical guidance system that does not use radiation or wires.
