Sazerac’s home away from home is found in the beautiful hills of Kentucky at the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery in Franklin County and Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. When you visit the state, it’s easy to see why Kentucky became the birthplace of bourbon.

Sazerac has returned to its 1640 roots with our own cognac estate and distillery. The picturesque Domaine Sazerac de Segonzac is set amongst 220 acres of beautiful, historic, organically cultivated vineyards in the very heart of the Cognac region of France.

The Sazerac Rye is deep amber-hued straight rye whiskey symbolizing the tradition and history of New Orleans, and is the essence of The Sazerac Cocktail. Antoine Peychaud, a Creole immigrant, operated a pharmacy on the French Quarter's Royal Street in 1838.

Our business was rooted in the Cognac business in France, which in turn led to the creation and popularity of coffee houses and bars in New Orleans, the Sazerac Cocktail, and eventually to the Sazerac Company we are today.
