While Koi display ponds are everywhere...FYI. Most of the Koi Farms mud ponds, Breeders, and sale warehouses are in the Niigata Prefecture. More specifically, the Nagaoka area on the western side of the mountains next to the Shinano river. This is less of a tourist/temple spot and more of a fish enthusiast spot.

As you can see in the photo, you will be deeply impressed by the elegant koi fish swimming through the clear and beautiful water on the side of the street. This wonderful sight can be seen because Shimabara has such an abundance of excellent spring water, and you can feel the coolness of the water just by looking at the photo.
