SEMTA Commuter Rail, also known as the Silver Streak, was a commuter train operated by the Southeastern Michigan Transportation Authority (SEMTA) and the Grand Trunk Western Railroad between Detroit and Pontiac, Michigan. It began in 1974 when SEMTA assumed control of the Grand Trunk's existing commuter trains over the route.

2011年11月24日 · SEMTA was formed to run the former GTW commuter service. They did so with some cast off long distance coaches and a collection of GP9/GP18 types as follow. The two GP18s were torpedo tube geeps. The 905 was a PNC rebuild.

The EMD GP9 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between 1954 and 1959. The GP9 succeeded the GP7 as the second model of EMD's General Purpose (GP) line, [1] incorporating a new sixteen- cylinder engine which generated 1,750 horsepower (1.30 MW). [2]

After the federal government slashed its annual grant to SEMTA by $16 million in 1983, SEMTA’s governing board voted in September to end the Detroit-Pontiac trains and 13 bus routes.

Several EMD GP9 locomotives have been preserved at various railroad museums, as public display pieces, and as excursion engines at heritage railways. This is a list of some of those locomotives that have survived into the preservation era.

2007年9月23日 · SEMTA had at least 8 locomotives in service with the first being 901. They were all GP9's. At one time there were many stations and stops along the line. Among them were stops at: I thought there was a stop at McNichols, but not sure.
