Fittings commonly used in the sewer main line are bends, couplings, adaptors, tees, wyes, and tee-wyes. Bends: The most common fittings found in service lines are bends, which are used to accommodate
PERMIT TO SPECIFY DEPTH OF COVER OF THE LATERAL AT THE PROPERTY LINE (DEPTH D, ABOVE) AND POINT OF CONNECTION TO THE DISTRICT SEWER MAIN AS MEASURED FROM THE LOWER MANHOLE (DIMENSION L, ABOVE). NO ADDITIONAL CLEANOUT (C/O) REQUIRED IF LATERAL DISTANCE IS LESS THAN 100' FROM REQUIRED BUILDING CLEANOUT.

designed as follows: locate a "wye" fitting on each force main downstream of the flex couplings and force main isolation valve. Extend the side outlet of the wye to an isolation valve and blind flange in a service box vault (use Type 316 stainless steel bolting for corrosion resistance). Size each service box
Connection of the SHC to the Mainline Sewer. SHCs can be installed using a tee or saddle on mainline sewers 15-inch diameter and smaller. See Connection Notes on Standard Detail S/6.0. For SHCs to mainline sewers larger than 15-inch diameter, provide a manhole at the connection to the mainline sewer.
WHERE THE SANITARY SEWER MAIN IS PVC C900, THE TEE-WYE SHALL BE GASKETED C-900. CLEANOUTS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS NEAR TO THE R/W, PROPERTY, OR EASEMENT LINE AS POSSIBLE. IF A CLEANOUT IS TO BE INSTALLED WHERE SIDEWALK IS EITHER EXISTING OR PROPOSED, IT SHALL BE PLACED BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND THE R/W LINE WHERE PRACTICAL.
A manhole is required when an 8” and larger sewer lateral is connected into a sewer main. Laterals shall be connected at 90-degree angle to the main sewer. The last two laterals shall be connected to the main with the use of a wye-connection. All other laterals may be connected with the use of a T-connector or wye-connection.
