Sh2-223 Region - AstroBin
This image shows the emission nebula (HII region) Sh2-223 (also known as LBN 768). Sh2-223 is the brighter portion of nebulosity in this image. The larger circular structure that is associated with Sh2-223 was thought to be a supermova remnant (SNR G166.2+02.5).

Deep sky astrophotography and telescope processing. Sh2-224 is a supernova remnant visible in the constellation of Auriga. It is situated 3.5 ° to SSE of the bright star Capella, the dominant star of the constellation.
Sh2-223 and Sh2-224 (Gary Imm) - AstroBin
2022年12月26日 · This image captures two very faint and fascinating objects, Sh2-224 to the left and Sh2-223 to the right, located in the constellation of Auriga at a declination of +42 degrees. Both of these objects have been classified as supernova remnants (SNRs), which they appear to resemble optically.
Sh2-223, Sh2-224, Sh2-225 & Sh2-227 in Auriga (Jan Scheers
Sh2-224 is a very faint supernova remnant at distance of about 14700 light years (in the Perseus arm of the Milky Way). Sh2-223, Sh2-225 and Sh2-227 are faint emission nebulae, H II regions. This SHO-image is acquired with the Takahashi FSQ-106ED refractor and FLI PL16803 camera from Telescope Live in IC Astronomy Observatory, Oria, Spain.

SHO-image of Sharpless 223, 224, 225 and 227 in the constellation Auriga. Sh2-224 is a very faint supernova remnant at distance of about 14700 light years (in the Perseus arm of the Milky Way). Sh2-2...
Sh2-223 & Sh2-224 - Experienced Deep Sky Imaging - Cloudy Nights
2012年7月24日 · This one is another supoernova remnant (Sh2-224) with a nice emission nebula as neighbour. Sh2-223 in fact was at first thought to be another supernova remnant, but recent studies show that is "just" an emission enbula, despite the regular shape would recall the shock front of a supernova shell.
Sh2-223 and Sh2-224 - 2 Panel Mosaic - AAPOD2.COM
2023年12月22日 · In this two-panel mosaic of Sh2-223 and Sh2-224 reveals a dynamic interplay of ionized gases and stellar nurseries. Captured through a meticulous blend of imaging data, this celestial composition showcases the radiant hues of hydrogen alpha emissions, portraying the energized regions where massive stars shape their surrounding nebulae.
Sh2-223 Region (not an SNR) - Cloudy Nights
2022年9月2日 · In 2006 in a published paper by Foster et. al. showed that this structure was an HII region and not a SNR. In the 2009 revision of the SNR catalog (D. A. Green), this structure was removed. Sh2-223 is very close to Sh2-224 (which is a supernova) and they are frequently imaged together in the same image. This image is an HOO process with RGB stars.
Sh2-223, Sh2-224, Sh2-225, Sh2-227 & Friends (HOO) - AstroBin
Sh2-223 sits very close to Sh2-224 and was also thought to be a SNR, however, more recent studies indicate that it is a HII emission nebula energized by a nearby star - this nebula is a bit closer to us at 7,000 light-years. Sh2-225 is also a HII emission nebula and is located about 12,000 light-years away.
