sh2-273-圣诞树星云 ngc 2264是ngc天体表的一个编号，但它其实是两个天体被识别为一个单一的天体：锥状星云和圣诞树星团。还有另外两个非正式命名的天体，雪花星团和狐狸皮星云也在此名称范围内。

The Fox Fur Nebula is a nebula (a formation of gas and dust) located in the constellation of Monoceros (the Unicorn) not far off the right arm of Orion and included in the NGC 2264 Region. In the Sharpless catalog it is number 273. The image is a close-up of a small section of a much larger complex, generally known as the Christmas Tree cluster.

2023年2月19日 · Sh 2-273 is often called the Fox Fur nebula because of the mottled appearance of the nebula near the central cluster. Estimated distance of the nebula is 800pc. NGC2264 distance estimates range bbetween 600 and 700pc.

2023年2月10日 · Tree/Fox/Cone and more - Sh2-273, NGC2264 - posted in Experienced Deep Sky Imaging: In addition to the Tree, Fox, and Cone (which you see in the thumbnail below), there is Hubbles Variable Nebula (NGC 2261), a couple of open clusters (NGC 2259 and Trumpler 5).

The Fox Fur nebula is associated with the Christmas Tree star cluster NGC 2264, dominated by the O7Ve multiple star system S Monocerotis (S Mon). This region, which is part of the larger Mon OB1 association, also includes the famous Cone nebula, visible at the bottom of the image.
