Shihad are a four-piece rock band from Wellington, New Zealand. Shihad formed in 1988 when Jon Toogood and Tom Larkin were still in high school. Guitarist Phil Knight also joined in 1988 and the band initially played thrash metal. Bass player Karl Kippenberger joined in 1991, and the band line-up has been stable ever since.
