2017年4月24日 · Shu Yun is a card that made me want to build around it. I'm also one of those people that doesn't feel good about a win unless I've smashed face to get it. I've got decent Daretti, Scrap Savant and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord decks that can win consistently that I almost never play because the wins feel hollow.

2018年10月1日 · Shu Yun's ability kit, while being very simple, directly rewards our game plan. Our commander is essentially an additional winning condition in the command zone, which is seriously awesome. This deck also has ways to benefit from the double strike ability with cards like Surrakar Spellblade or an encoded Stolen Identity .

2021年6月2日 · Shu yun definitely likes a low curve. 1-2cmc non-creature spells are the bread and butter of shu yun since you can cast him turn 3 and trigger his double strike on turn 4. That being said he runs out of cards quick. That’s why they call him one punch man. Anything that creates card advantage will help greatly late game with shu yun.

2021年4月14日 · If shu yun dies and gets recast he is not encoded again. You cipher onto a creature, so if he dies and you recast him he is considered a new creature. You are right that cipher triggers prowess only after damage, so it's only a free prowess trigger for the second hit. Sometimes it can help get the extra 1 damage for 21 commander damage.

You can also add cheap board wipes to keep the board under control before you play him. [[Divine reckoning]] in particular is great in Shu Yun voltron.

2021年4月14日 · You gave me some good ideas for my own semi-budget Shu Yun build. I really like the [[Stubborn Denial]] inclusion here. I tried making my list a bit more multiplayer oriented with more emphasis on card draw, cantrips, and removal. Unfortunately that means there's less spots available for protection effects and giving Shu Yun unblockable.
