Significant changes in national health policy, like the Veterans Choice Act, have created growing opportunities for veterans to receive care outside of the Veterans Administration (VA), yet little is known about the attitudes and practices in PTSD care of community providers, particularly their use of evidence-based psychotherapies (EBPs).

To address this issue, we evaluated the relationship between levels of inflammatory molecules and psychopathological parameters in patients with schizophrenia. We hypothesized that severity of symptoms would correlate with increased levels of inflammatory cytokines.

Results: Of the 270 participants, 37% reported calcium supplementation, and 41% reported regular weight-bearing exercise to prevent osteoporosis. Fifty (41%) of the postmenopausal women were currently using hormone replacement therapy.
