SIGIS is a leader in providing industry standards as well as knowledge and expertise in health care payment cards. Members of SIGIS receive exclusive benefits. SIGIS has established IIAS certification and 90% registrations programs for its members.

The SIGIS Eligible Product List is a list of eligible health care/medical products that qualify for purchase with an FSA or HRA payment card. The list has been reviewed and modified by the SIGIS Eligible Product List Committee, a group of benefit plan administrators, merchants, and other SIGIS Members.

So, an FSA/HRA/HSA debit card is what is meant by the term health benefit card. While plan administrators determine the requirements for how FSA, HRA and HSA debit cards work, SIGIS offers two services that may be helpful to card holders. These are the Store Locator Service and the Eligible Product List Criteria publication.

SIG-IS has a registration program for drug stores and pharmacies to register as 90% Rule Merchants. This generally applies to merchants using a standalone credit card terminal or a point-of-sale system (POS) that does not support the IIAS standard.

Based on your entity level, follow the steps below to become a SIGIS member and receive IIAS certification: Merchants must complete the SIGIS IIAS Merchant Certification Self-Assessment. If the Merchant’s Referrer is registered with SIGIS, they must register as a certified TPS Merchant.
