Simon VII Awad [1] (or Sim'an Awwad, Auwad, Aouad, Arabic: سمعان السابع عوّاد, Latin: Simeon Evodius, born in 1683 in Hasroun, Lebanon – died on February 12, 1756, in El Midane, Lebanon), was the 61st Maronite Patriarch of Antioch from 1743 to his death in 1756.

A list of Maronite Patriarchs of Antioch was written and published by bishop Giuseppe Simone Assemani, and Patriarch Simon Awad, which follows the ''Series of Maronite Patriachs'' written by Patriarch Estephan El Douaihy in the 17th century, but it is incomplete for the first centuries.

On January 4, 1752, the Pope censured Patriarch Simon Awad for his having pronouced on an affair of such importance without having consulted the Holy See beforehand. He suppressed the Congregation of the Sacred Heart and ordered Hindiyeh transferred to another convent.

When Bishop Simon Awad was elected Patriarch in 1742, he decided to leave Northern Lebanon and settle between the Machmoucheh convent and the village of El-Midane, which he had bought previously. His mother, brother and nephew were the first inhabitants of El-Midane.

2022年12月17日 · Bzommar, in Syriac “the place of the psalmodist”, was given to the Armenian Catholic bishops by the Khazen under the Maronite patriarch Simon Awad, by a deed of gift dated 1749. The Catholicos Abraham Ardzivian died in the same year, leaving in his will the wish to erect the patriarchal seat there for his successors.
