SLSA ATV Code of Conduct The SLSA ATV Code of Conduct (pg 7) specifies requirements for ATV operators as used in lifesaving operations settings. Laws & Regulations Your ATV is an off-road vehicle and therefore is not designed, and is not safe for street or highway use.

All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) enable suitably qualified lifesaving personnel to be more mobile and capable of quickly responding to emergencies both inside and outside of their patrolled area. The use of flashing lights should be restricted to on-beach patrolling/emergencies and shall not be used on public roads.

Following the realignment of terminology from All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to Side-by-Side Vehicle (SSV), SLSA has updated the national ATV induction resource into the new SLSA Side-by-Side Vehicle (SSV) Operator Induction Guide .

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on the beach and surrounds. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive the SLSA ATV Operator Certificate.

Any gear and equipment used by SLSA affiliated clubs and services for the purposes of frontline surf lifesaving /surf rescue or Surf Sports competition must be endorsed by SLSA and on the listed in this manual.

SLSA provides a learner guide for students to complete as part of the ATV Operator course.

(ATV). ATV Operator Certificate . The completion of the ATV Operator Certificate course is no longer a national requirement to operate an ATV. The new minimum national requirements to operate an ATV are: 1. ATV operators must hold a current car driver’s license - Currency: The license must not be expired and not be suspended/cancelled.

All SSVs are to meet SLSA gear and equipment specifications. These specifications are outlined at: www.sls.com.au. Single Seat (Quad Bikes) are no longer to be used by clubs/members for Surf Life Saving operations. Any use of ‘quads’ forfeits coverage by the association’s insurance policy for any member/club/service involved in an incident.
