The Short Michigan Alcohol Screening Tests include 3 different forms: The Self Form (SMA), Short Michigan Alcohol Screening Test- Mother Form (MSM), and the Short Michigan Alcohol Screening Test- Father Form (FSM). Each of these are 13 item measures about problems experienced by the indicated person as a result of drinking alcohol.

This new building (called SMAST 2, as it is on a campus with the original SMAST building) will consolidate UMass Dartmouth’s School of Marine Science and Technology faculty and researchers onto a central campus.

The Short Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test--Geriatric Version (SMAST-G) is often used in outpatient settings to detect "at-risk" alcohol use, alcohol abuse, or alcoholism in older adults.
