ASCP offers RegAF enlisted personnel the opportunity to earn a commission while completing their bachelor’s degree as an AFROTC cadet. Scholarships range from two (2) to four (4) years in length. Participants receive payment for tuition and scholarship fees, an annual textbook allowance, and a monthly stipend when the scholarship is activated.

Members of other branches of the service wanting to join Air Force ROTC and pursue a commission as an Air Force or Space Force officer may apply for POC-ERP or ASCP. The POC -ERP program program allows enlisted members with 2 or less years of school left to separate from active duty and join AFROTC with an out-of-cycle EA, then attend Field Training between their AS300 and AS400 years. Details on how to apply for this program are here.

Allows Airmen to earn professional certification in their specialty at no cost. AF COOL can be used toward multiple credentials with a career max allowance of $4500. Enlisted Airmen who strive to attend or complete college may apply to the SOAR program.

The SOAR program allows Major Command (MAJCOM) commanders the opportunity to select outstanding active duty airmen for AFROTC scholarships. Airmen who are selected are discharged from active duty to pursue a commission through AFROTC. The scholarship pays for college tuition and fees up to $18,000 per year.

For ASCP and SOAR you receive a Type 2 scholarship that pays your tuition up to $18,000 a year along with a cadet stipend. For POC-ERP you fund your own tuition (via GI Bill). The application is nearly identical for all 3.

POC-ERP is an avenue for RegAF Airmen to attend college in order to finish earning their baccalaureate degree. The POC-ERP allows Airmen with no more than two (2) years of college remaining to apply for early release from the RegAF to pursue a commission through AFROTC.

Air Force ROTC offers three enlisted commissioning programs available to enlisted members: ASCP, SOAR, and POC-ERP. Even members from other services can apply for ASCP and POC-ERP. ROTC cadets earn a commission upon graduation from college (no OTS attendance).
