2023年4月4日 · I've heard the Sony CDP-X7ESD and Sony CDP-X707ES and Sony CDP-XA7ES models thrown out there as being some of the top dogs in the Sony line. However, I wish there was a resource online that showed what the top of the line, most expensive Sony players were during the 80's and 90's, but I have no clue if such a resource exists.

2010年6月26日 · Not trying to criticize, but your CDP-XA20ES should sound much better than the CDP-101. Most any CD player made in the last 10 years should beat the '101. I had a Sony CDP-102 back around 2001, and it was awful. The sound was muddy. A budget Sony CDP-CE575 carousel changer that was current in 2001 beat the '102 handily.

2009年12月30日 · The 69ES is the same vintage as my now-departed Sony CDP-725. I know this because I remember deciding between the '725 and the '69 back when I made the purchase! The 69ES was the low-end ES changer at the time (about $400), while the 725 was the top-of-the-line 'regular' Sony (about $450).

2016年5月20日 · Yes I can. I owned a Sony CDP-750 which had excellent sonics. I frequently used it with my Carver amplifier and Klipsch La Scala speakers and it was always smooth accurate and detailed. One of the few Sonys ever built to utilize the famous Philips TDA1541 chip. If you can locate one I don't think you will be disappointed.

2005年8月5日 · Most Sony focus-beam pickups aren't meant to be tinkered. Especially in models like these. I wish there was a set of 4-5 common CD pickups you could buy for a quick replacement, but you would find this to be un-cost effective. A lot of older Sony CD players will amaze. Also, try the local thrifts. Don't break a nail trying to fix it. Sigh.

2024年11月13日 · Your Sony CDP 390 used a Phillips DAC model TDA1543A and a Sony CD drive, laser #KSS-210A or KSS-240A. If you search (eBay) you will find that replacement lasers are available. Whether they are Sony originals or Chinese knockoffs is another story. But, if you like the CD player, buy a replacement laser to have on-hand.

2011年1月30日 · They are fantastic sounding. Of course many of them have the Philips TDA1541 DAC chip or a Sony chip of similar vintage. Equally important, in this era player Sony engineers were truly adding mod-quality capacitors and other surrounding electronics. I listen to my headphones with a Sony CDP 227ESD, which even sports two TDA1541s.

Rather than just plunge in headfirst and buy a new one, I decided to get a good secondhand machine while I read around for a prospective new one. Then I struck very lucky; I found a mint Sony CDP 791-E.

2018年2月9日 · I came across someone else that had the same problem with their Sony CDP-55 CD player from back in the day. My father bought this player new for me as a birthday present in 1987. I remember it wasn’t cheap. At first I loved it. The search function was much faster than the Yamaha I had bought a year or two prior and it looked great.
