2021年3月11日 · 3. Always output in PCM The soundbar supported ATMOS - so if I select option 1 - then i can see a ATMOS (or other depending on source format) received at speaker. If i select PCM I see LPCM at speaker. I logged case with both Sony and B&O and both seem to suggest PCM is the best option which surprised me.

2020年3月21日 · PCM isn't technically an audio format and more a way of conveying digital data. It can convey data associated with audio that has a higher bitrate and sample rate than lossy formats, but only if the media you are accessing the audio from includes a PCM encoded soundtrack encoded with the additional information not present with the lossy compressed Dolby Digital variant of that same soundtrack.

2017年1月9日 · The Sony BR player was set to output Bitstream, so the first thing that I tried was swap the output to PCM. That made no change. However, if I routed both video and audio via the TV to soundbar from the BR player, then lip-sync was spot-on.

2009年12月16日 · Note that ARC is limited to SD formated 5.1 DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formated audio and cannot convey more than just 2 channels of PCM audio data. eARC can convey HD formats such as 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio or TrueHD as well as multichannel PCM.

2010年4月22日 · I have recently bought a Samsung LE40C750 TV, Sony BDP S570B which are both connected to the Onkyo HT-S6305B home cinema system. I have the Blu ray player (and a BT Vision box) connected with HDMI and the HDMI out goes to the TV using ARC for audio. Whenever I watch TV, it always shows the audio as PCM on my receiver.

If you select PCM as an output option rather than bitstream then you get 2 channel PCM as opposed to the multichannel PCM signal you'd expect to get from other brands of player when dealing with DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD ...

2023年1月2日 · New Blu-ray says it has stereo PCM 2.0 and surround PCM 5.O audio formats. That PCM 5.0 is not DTS-HD or DD. All I can get out of it is the stereo. Have tried various changes in the Sony X700 audio setup, without any luck so far. Other Blu-ray disc's from the same company (Opus Arte opera) that specify DTS-HD play fine with all 5 channels.

2021年11月26日 · Set your TV's digital audio output setting option to something other than PCM. The PCM setting on a TV will result in all audio being downmixed to just 2 channels and then output as 2 channel PCM. Also note that nothing on YouTube would ever be anything more tha 2 channel stereo in nature.
