Feb 15, 2021 · This prevents the spacebar from bending and cures the problem completely. I had two laptops fail this way so I would guess that a lot of other users will have experienced the same problem. This looks like a design defect to me (a retired engineer). Either the spacebar is too bendy or the keyswitch is too stiff.

Mar 16, 2020 · It had "the sticky" spacebar issue and I had to take it back to Best Buy, where the service personnel just advised to return it and reorder another one. The second one arrived today - with the same issue. I can see the online posts about this issue dating back 2-3 years.

Dec 24, 2004 · Pretty simple, really: the right SIDE of my spacebar sticks a bit when pressed 3-4 times, and when I then proceed to hit the LEFT side of it, it makes a clicking sound, and unsticks for 3-4 more presses, when the cycle then repeats itself.

Jul 6, 2018 · I have a dell latitude e6410 and initially the keys 'n', 'b', spacebar and arrow keys weren't working. I have now replaced my keyboard and all other keys are working except the spacebar I now feel like it could be more than a hardware issue.

Aug 26, 2010 · J, I did get my issue resolved by getting a replacement laptop. I contacted Dell Customer Service, gave them my service tag info which pulled up my limited warranty info and they offered me to either a) have a tech come out to look at the laptop and replace the spacebar or, b) get a replacement laptop.

Feb 3, 2020 · Recently, the spacebar began malfunctioning. When I do a normal keystroke, it will either not work at all, or keep going and create a long string of spaces as if I were holding it down. I can get it to stop occasionally by pressing the spacebar (it takes a few times/unpredictable) or pressing the delete/backspace keys.

Nov 16, 2019 · The spacebar starting its fit usually is preceded by the backlight of the laptop's keyboard turning on and then presses spacebar until I press fn+f7 which then stops it for a couple of minutes. I have : uninstalled and reinstalled several times the keyboard and mouse drivers; restarted the device a bunch of times

Even I tried the spacebar test and it working properly there but when I type msgs or something it does not work properly.
