Specialist (Chinese: 上等兵 shàngděngbīng, "upper-rank soldier") is a rank in the Republic of China Army next to the rank of corporal, and has the NATO equivalent code of OR-3. In 1920, the Army rank and pay system received a major overhaul.

2013年7月25日 · In 1978, the grade of Specialist Seventh Class was abolished and finally in 1985, the ranks of Specialist Sixth Class and Specialist Fifth Class were discontinued. Soldiers holding these ranks at the time of their abolition were afforded the opportunity of converting over to a corresponding Non-Commissioned Officer grade.
