2014年1月5日 · I have been searching the forum and the internet for an answer of how to make or get my hands on a "Spool of Wire" from the "Tinkers Mechworks" but cant find a answer :( So is there anyone out there who might have the answer on my question? :)

2013年9月22日 · The shuttle-bobbin is good. If you watch the machines work they have a round bobbin with a break in it. The bobbin is like a "C". You put the empty bobbin around one part of the core. Then spin the bobbin and spool 10 feet of wire on the bobbin. Cut the wire. Now spin the bobbin and it winds the wire around the core. Now remove the empty bobbin.

2014年8月9日 · Actually, if you watch the current DW20 Let's Play there's a mod in the current pack that has a wire spool that uses aluminum brass for wire. I'll find and post a link to the video. [Edit] Here's an episode where DW20 uses the wire (At 18:07 or so). It's from Tinker's Construct. Also, Aluminum Brass ingots are used in the TiCo Drawbridges.

2022年10月11日 · I tested this using the original wire that was wrapped around it while waiting for my nichrome spool to arrive, but it would slip at the slightest touch from the smoothness of the ceramic tube. That wire is in pretty bad shape though, with bends and such from unwrapping it, so maybe the new wire will hold better being smooth and straight.

I rebuilt the bobbin, got some kapton tape and dragged the mess to the machine shop. I chucked up my bobbin and slowly wound off a large spool of AWG 30 magnet wire and figured good enough.

Pronine will tell you based on the gauge how many layers at that length it'll take (try to make it an even 2 or 3 or 4, not 3.36 or something). Secure the wire to the dowel rod with some tape, hold some tension on the wire from the spool, and slowly spin up the drill.
