SJ is the acronym they use in Japan for Super Saiyan. I believe it's Saiyajin (or something similar, too lazy to Google it). The point is there's a J in the Japanese word. They don't, actually. You're correct that the Japanese name is Saiyajin (the -jin just means "person"), but whenever Super Saiyajin is abbreviated in Japan, they just use SS.
