2005年5月11日 · Recently I was given a Stihl 08 S chainsaw from an old neighbor of mine. He said he had the saw for more than 25 years. I can tell because even the Stihl logo is very different than the one they have now. This saw was made in West Germany and it must weight more than 20 lbs. The saw does start and run strong.

2009年6月28日 · Here are some pictures of my latest aquisition - a Stihl 08s. The saw is in great shape, runs well and I am really pleased with it. I was wondering as to go about finding the build date of the Stihl saws? This one has a serial number 9134808, and I assume it is a later model machine due to the fact that it has the toggle type kill switch fitted.

2018年1月31日 · I don't know if would take that long bar but is not impossible. I can't confirm. The larger bar I have is 32" and not for Stihl. Like i say in the other post, run slower RPM then the regular saw's and don't change the RPM when you cut. I have a 20" bar on it. What surprise me was the huge carburetor what they install in this saw.

2018年6月18日 · I've just recently got into saws and have a collected a good pile of freebies. One being a Stihl 08. Does anyone have an IPL for this saw. I cannot get the recoil starter to function and I THINK there may be a part missing. The pawls are free but refuse to move out and engage the flywheel. It's been sitting a LONG time.

2016年4月27日 · I'm currently working on a Husky 266, but still new to the hobby and need a little advice on the purchase of two Stihl 08S's. They appear to be well used and early in the 08S production due to the push button kill switch instead of the toggle switch which came later in the production run. The seller says they're tempermental but do run.
