Supro guitars. Will we ever see them again? - The Gear Page
2021年3月30日 · Outside of David Bowie and Rory Gallagher, who liked the old Dual Tone model, there were very few guitarists of any note who used them. Supro guitars were cheaply made catalog instruments back in the day. They were not quality guitars to begin with, although my '58 Belmont is a pretty cool slide guitar, now that it's been modded and updated.
Supro guitars: dead? - The Gear Page
2020年11月25日 · Supro did a brilliant job but it was a little weird to buy import guitars at these prices that had a few quirks. I owned 3, a Hampton, Westbury and Martinique which were picked up when they slashed prices in 2017. The Westbury and …

2017年1月13日 · These guitars sound amazing, plugged directly into a Supro amp. I've been wanting to get a hold of one of their amps too. I'm calling Supro tomorrow-they're in Long Island-to see about getting a demo guitar for review.
Supro Has Dropped Their Guitar Line??? - The Gear Page
2021年1月19日 · Valco/Supro did make some cool guitars - reso-glass and the Bowie - but the designs Absara chose weren't what I would consider the best of the Valco/Supro pool they had to draw on. And my advice to come in with low-watt amps that target the bedroom player and home-recording crowd was ignored in favor of the big, expensive amps that the market ...

2023年10月4日 · Hi all, I've got two guitars to choose from locally and all things being equal what do you reckon is the best purchase: D'ANGELICO Premier Brighton SUPRO Westbury Supro probably looks cooler but the D'Angelico has coil splitting which is slightly swaying me... D'Angelico is also a little...

2020年12月8日 · The other Supro guitars look good too (dig the Bowie). The amps didn't do much for me but we all have our own taste and I didn't try them beyond three-minute sessions in a GC with folk banging out "Enter Sandman" nearby.

2020年11月25日 · -The later because while I was a lower echelon success as a `60s rocker (with one said to be a "classic" tune) I had no interest in Supro at all back then. I was a Gibson guitar and Fender amp guy, period. But now I own three pieces of Absara Supro gear-- two guitars and an amp -- and just love 'em to pieces.

2020年11月25日 · Pigtronix made sense, Supro didn't - at least not the way they did it. We'll have to see how things play out with the new owners but getting Bethke out of the loop is a good first step. He brought money (he's a trust-fund baby which is how Abasara happened) and ego but once the money was gone all he brought to the table was an unfounded sense ...

2017年1月13日 · Originally liked these, but, now the more i look at them, the more i think Fender Excelsior... just tacky looking. Looks like something that would've been lost in my grandfather's basement in the '70's. I'll pass.
New Supros VS old Supros - The Gear Page
2018年1月30日 · The neck construction on the reissues is unlikely to be the same as old Supro/Valco guitars. As far as I know all or most vintage Valco's had a large cast magnesium alloy core in the neck - essentially an alloy neck with a wood jacket. I believe the reissues are a conventional neck with truss rod.
