The initial product was the twist-wrapped "Swell" brand pink bubble gum, sold for a penny. The Company then came out with the brown colored "El Bubble" candy cigar that sold for a nickel. In 1954 the Magic Color chewing gum cigarettes that sold for a dime.

Across the street, the Philadelphia Chewing Gum Company built a 200,000-square-foot plant in 1948 (Figure 2). The company, a major local employer, produced Swell bubble gum, El Bubble Gum cigars and other snacks at the facility for 55 years. Figure 3. Major historic site features.

The lumber yard caused massive pollution to the groundwater in the area, and being so close caused this location to be involved. Love those chairs.
