2022年2月21日 · The TBV is basically a thermostat for the transmission, when the fluid temperature reaches x, the valve opens and allows coolant to flow through the transmission cooler. The original TBV that was used on almost all GM vehicles with 6L80, 6L90, opened at 194 degrees, and is mounted directly on the transmission.

The Thermal Bypass Valve (TBV) may be the cause of the overheat if a cooler line is not twisted or misshaped. 2023年4月10日 · With the GM bypass valve with the new 70C setpoint you still have cooler bypass function which gives you better transmission warm up - reducing spin losses and improving fuel economy, especially in the winter. At 70 C (158 F) you get 100% cooler flow.
