The TDA7000 contains a mute function, controlled by a “waveform correlator”, based on the exactness of the IF frequency . The correlation circuit uses the IF frequency and an inverted version of it, which is delayed (phase-shifted) by half the period of nominal IF.

It is a proper FM superhet receiver, with the usual local oscillator, mixer, IF amplifier, limiter, and phase detector. The difference is that there's only one tuned circuit; the local oscillator. The TDA7000 relies on a low IF so that ordinary Op Amp circuitry can take care of the gain and bandpass characteristics.

With this small receiver it is possible to pickup TV stations, entire 88 - 108MHz FM band, aircraft conversation and many other private transmissions. It is a perfect companion to any FM Transmitter especially if FM band in your area is very crowded.

2020年5月21日 · In this tutorial, we are demonstrating a project of an FM Radio Receiver using TDA7000. TDA7000 is a well-known FM radio receiver IC additionally called a one-chip FM radio receiver that covers the VHF FM band from 70 to 120 MHZ.

The basic data about the famous Philips' IC used in this project, TDA7000, are given in the following table. Electronic diagram of the HF part of the device (from antenna to the LF output) built with TDA7000 is shown on Pic.4.7. As one can see, it is a simple device, made with relatively small number of components.
