Aug 26, 2022 · The spatial audio still worked but was not as crisp and it came with Realtek Audio manager so I knew THX became secondary application instead of hardware enforced. At first I thought the name change came with the update but the sound was not as crisp and Razer mentioned system restore but that did not work and windows 11 deleted my old OS.

May 21, 2020 · Games like Borderlands 3, Halo MCC, Halo Infinite, the Gear games, the Tomb Raider games, and pretty much every game going forward will use the Windows 10 Spatial Sound API instead of THX, which works with Dolby Atmos for Headphones, Windows Sonic for Headphones (which is free and included with Windows 10) and DTS Sound Unbound.

May 10, 2022 · and in some other cases, "Speakers (THX Spatial - Synapse)" option will not give me any sound, even if checked as a "Default Device" in the "Sound" window's "Playback" list. I am sharing them here in the hope that you might try them out. The frequencies are as follows: 31Hz, 63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, and 16kHz.

Mar 14, 2017 · You don't need 4K test images to calibrate a 4K screen that is still using rec709. Any normal test disc (like Disney WOW) is fine, or the THX tests on any BluRay disc. The only time you need something different is for UHD sources running rec2020, and those images won't help you with that.

Nov 16, 2020 · Otherwise the THX option is probably doing surround by taking a 7.1 (or 5.1) signal, downmixing it and applying an impulse response to simulate surround. Dolby Atmos can also do this for games that don't support spatial sound if you have a DAC capable of using virtual 7.1 (or are willing to jump some hoops to work around a DAC that doesn't).
