The TV Parental Guidelines are a television content rating system in the United States that was first proposed on December 19, 1996, by the United States Congress, the American television industry, and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

TV-PG - Parental Ratings Guidelines: Where applicable, program descriptions include abbreviations of the parental guidelines networks have adopted. A full definition of each rating is available at: http://www.tvguidelines.org/ratings.asp. TV-Y All Children This program is designed to be appropriate for all children.

PG and TV-PG are both ratings used to indicate that a program may contain content that is not suitable for younger audiences without parental guidance. However, PG is a more general rating used for movies, while TV-PG specifically applies to television programs.
