The TVR S series is a line of sports cars manufactured by the British company TVR between 1986 and 1994. It was announced at the 1986 British International Motor Show. The car went into production in less than 12 months, with 150 pre-manufacture orders placed at the motor show before the moulds were even made. [1]

2020年10月23日 · Distinctive to look at, well engineered and simple to work on, without the complex electronics that plague later TVR models, the S range is currently good value for the fun the cars offer. But beware: values don’t match the cost of making a neglected car like new again, so buy the best you can find and budget to keep it that way.

2022年5月9日 · With pretty glassfibre bodywork, a steel chassis and engines that ranged from Ford 105E, through Coventry Climax and ultimately the MGB’s 1800cc unit, the new sports car got rave reviews and the order book looked healthy.

It’s the 2.9L model powered by the Ford Cologne V6 delivering ~168BHP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed gearbox. In good, useable condition this 280S is a real drivers’ car ready to offer its next owner an entertaining summer.

The TVR has been completed to an exceptionally high standard, and has been driven about 1200 miles since completion, including a 400 mile round trip to the West Country. Now it’s being offered as the seller has a new project in mind and is keen to get started!

Inspired by the straightforward and classically styled TVR 3000S, the new 280S model unveiled in 1986 was to remain the mainstay of TVR production while the company dallied with 'wedges' and outrageous supercars.
