Always try to buy the hex-head tapcon screws especially for long runs.

I'll be replacing the base, so I will need to remove the screw, remove the base, and then re-bolt the new base to the concrete. I will probably use new screws, but can I reuse the hole? I would be using the same exact screw.

Pre drill the treated base plate for the anchors, counter sink them a 1/4 inch, then lay a heavy bead of construction adhesive under the plate. Use a good concrete bit to drill the anchor holes. They should be at least an inch deep.

2016年2月18日 · From the best I've found, the recomendation is to go at least 1" into the concrete, and for tapcons, people tend to recomend the 1/4 vs 3/16". Looking around it seems like my options are either 1/4" x 2-3/4" Tapcons, or 2.5"/3" Ramset nails.

2023年5月18日 · I am using 4-in blue Tapcon screws to attach 2x4s to a brick wall. The picture shows a top board where it worked just fine. I was able to drill the hole using a 3/16 in concrete bit and the screw went all the way in, holding the 2x4 tight. I did the same with the bottom 2x4 but it will not go in more than a quarter inch into the brick.
