1995年10月1日 · We have investigated the influence of ccpA, ptsH, ptsG and xy1R mutations on catabolite repression of xylA expression. The results indicate that full glucose repression of the xyl operon requires CcpA, Hpr and XyIR. In contrast, fructose repression depends on CcpA and Hpr, but not on Xy1R.

In this report, we show that xylA and xylB in T. ethanolicus are organized in an operon, and the deduced sequence of the T. ethanolicus XylB protein is compared to those of its homologs. In addition, we present evidence that the regulation of xylose utilization in T. ethanolicus is mediated at the transcriptional level.
