Torball (German: goal ball) is a team sport for the blind and vision-impaired and was developed in the 1970s in central Europe. [1] With some similar structures in the rules in the 1980s, it is different to the Paralympic Games team sport of goalball . [ 2 ]

Torball is an indoor ball game for the blind and visually impaired, a sort of ‘goalball light’. It is played with a 500-gram rubber ball fitted with interior bells, and the players wear facemasks. Each team consists of three players that must stay on their half of the court at all times.

Torball is a fast-moving team sport for people with vision impairments of all ages. Torball is played on a rectangular court of 16x7m. On the court are six players from two teams – three players per team. Goals are located at either end of the court.
