2019年11月21日 · I've had a Tormek T-3 (it's their smaller sharpener, and a generation or so back - I think T4 is the current model) and it's served me well for the 10 years that I've had it. The gouge jig I have is the SVD-185 (current version is SVD-186).

2012年3月29日 · The Tormek is supposedly around 1000 grit, I'm using a 320 grit belt on the sander and the CBN is around 180 grit. The CBN removes the most metal per sharpening, the Belt is next but will remove metal very rapidly if you use any pressure so and surpised me how quickly you can ruin an edge if you don't have a light touch.

2009年3月27日 · The Grizzly is a good bit cheaper than the Tormek. I was wondering if anyone had experience with both of them. Would the Grizzly be as good as the Tormek or is the Tormek worth the extra $200.00. The Grizzly machine weighs almost 3 times as much as the Tormek, so I probably wont get it. Any advice would be appreciated.

2024年4月29日 · A long time ago I built an adapter to use my Tormek jigs with a bench grinder. I use the same rod that comes with the Tormek (I have several), bought their adapter that holds and locks the legs of the rod, and made a mount from hardwood, fastened to the piece of 3/4" plywood I use to hold the bench grinder and wolverine bases.

2007年8月14日 · I use the Tormek 600grit diamond wheel for all my turning tools I sharpen on the Tormek. It works great. My gouges and scrapers are very sharp. Any other tools that I might start out on the Tormek, like chisels and plane irons, I hand sharpen with a Lie-Nielsen jig on diamond stones up to 1200 grit to start, then up 8000 on Shapton Glass Stones.

2023年8月10日 · This was a big deal. After seeing what Tormek wanted for a quality stone, I decided to go with a Rikon 1/2 hp with CBN wheels for about the same price. I rigged up my own universal support using a long 12mm bar that extends over both wheels. I’m still using the Tormek jigs, and can go from coarse to fine wheel without messing with the USB.

2024年9月16日 · The Tormek is most definitely NOT too slow for use with a CBN wheel. I had a ten-inch 1000-grit CBN wheel from Woodturners Wonders and it cut just as fast as using a CBN wheel on a dry grinder. The reason is the difference in applied pressure.
