Remember its made for flinging 9mm quickly at close in targets, not precision shooting. Its recoil is pretty mild considering how stupid light it is (it weighs as much as a full size steel 1911).

If you are a 9mm can virgin or don't have more than one or two already laying around. Go with the TP9 and bite the bullet for the accompanying can.
