2024年9月2日 · The TRRA proved to be a vitally important asset since St. Louis was the second-busiest railroad gateway behind only Chicago. Numerous eastern trunk lines like the Baltimore & Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York met major western carries including the Missouri Pacific, Union Pacific, Rock Island, Frisco, and others.

Columbus & Greenville SW1 units 501 and 506 were near the roundhouse at Columbus, Mississippi. Both of these were former Terminal Railway Association of St. Louis units with the same numbers and had been purchased in May 1972. The unit wears the paint scheme of its former owner, the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis.

501, SW1, Class D, was built by Electro-Motive in June 10, 1940, #1076, FN E313-1. It was reclassified as Class E.6 and sold to Hyman-Michaels Co in May 1972. It was sold as Columbus & Greenville 501 and later sold for scrap to M D Friedman Co.

2017年7月27日 · Madison Yard is the main yard for the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA). It has become quite rare for a current yard to be almost as big as it was in the 1940s. TRRA S2 #588 and SW1 #555, along with two cabooses, are seen at the northern end of Madison Yard in Madison, Illinois in 1970.
