2010年8月2日 · Personally, I think the M42 is a great candidate in the BMW family for some F/I love and it is a very strong motor in stock form. Small boost (under 10 pounds) seems to be very reliable on this motor from most threads I have read.

2011年10月11日 · Hi, great build up and nearly identical to mine engine build wise 8.5:1cr with a slight over bore all forged but mines "o-ringed". however i'm running a rotrex supercharger C30-84. Mines currently running 285hp (crank) @12psi and 225ft/lb with an 7k rev limit. I'm running a M20 flywheel and standard M20 sach clutch and its been fine.

2009年4月11日 · As long you choose the correct sized turbo and the boost doesn't fall away at high RPM, then you will have superior torque lower down than the centrifugal superchargers like the Rotrex and almost on par with the Eaton, more mid-range torque and higher power at high RPM then the Eaton but on par with the Rotrex.

BMW M42/44 Turbo Manifold. A bolt-on, SG cast iron turbo manifold for BMW M42 and M44 engines. Designed with a T3 output flange. Comes with a T3 gasket, 4 nickel-coated studs and 4 copper nuts to bolt down the turbo. Coated with three layers of black VHT paint. To bolt to your head, use an OEM or aftermarket gasket and the OEM studs and nuts.

2016年11月14日 · I think you should try it, stock. Save the money on the fasteners- at least until something blows up the first time! The big variable here is tuning- if you can keep it cool and detonation- free, I think your power levels should be well within the design limits of the M42- it IS a pretty tough little lump. Go for it. Post pictures.
