German submarine U-180 was a Type IXD1 transport U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine which served in World War II. Her keel was laid down on 25 February 1941 at the DeSchiMAG AG Weser yard in Bremen as yard number 1020. She was launched on 10 December 1941 and commissioned on 16 May 1942 under Fregattenkapitän Werner Musenberg (Crew 25).

U-180 met I-29 in the Indian Ocean to transfer two Indian Nationalists to the Japanese submarine, one of whom was Subhas Chandra Bose. I-29 put both men ashore at Sumatra. Fregkpt.

U 180 war ein U-Boot vom Typ IX D 1, das im Zweiten Weltkrieg von der deutschen Kriegsmarine eingesetzt wurde. Der Bauauftrag für U 180 erging am 28. Mai 1940 an die Werft Deschimag AG Weser in Bremen. Dort wurde das Boot am 7. Oktober 1941 auf Kiel gelegt und am 10. Dezember 1941 vom Stapel gelassen.
