German submarine U-153 was a Type IXC U-boat of Nazi Germany 's Kriegsmarine built for service during World War II. The keel for this boat was laid down on 12 September 1940 at the DeSchiMAG AG Weser yard in Bremen, Germany as yard number 995.

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-153 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
