PhD programme specialised in a field of high demand and social importance—new materials—organised jointly by the Departments of Chemistry, Physics and Geology of the UAB in collaboration with the UAB Sphere research centres: ICMAB-CSIC, ICN2 and IMB-CNM, and including the participation of the ALBA synchrotron and the IREC.

The location of ICMAB, and most partner institutions, in the UAB Campus represents the perfect setting for the recruited fellows to carry out their research projects. Although relatively young, UAB is currently in the top 3 best universities in Spain, and ranks high in the Europe list, according to Times Higher Education.

The ICMAB is integrated within the Barcelona Nanocluster in Bellaterra (BNC-b), a research network part of the UAB Research Park of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the ALBA Synchrotron. The BNC-b aims to share advanced scientific equipment and promote and disseminate nanoscience and nanotechnology.
