The Equestrian Club at the University of Central Florida was founded in 2002 with four members that were the sole caretakers of UCF's Equine Mascot, "Pegasus." Today, the club is considered a "Tier Three" Sport Club at UCF and includes three competitive teams with over 50 members.

In 1970, FTU’s athletics program finally had a nickname, the Knights. And the students had a logo to rally behind, a democratically chosen design that allied the mascot with the university seal’s mythological winged horse, Pegasus. In 1980, UCF decided to revamp the mascot to motivate the crowd and draw attention to the new football program.

2011年4月28日 · Riders can compete in Hunt Seat Equitation on the flat and over fences, USDF Recognized Dressage, and Western Horsemanship and reining events. Most importantly, the club volunteers in the community at Freedom Ride. Freedom Ride is NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified to teach challenged children and adult riders.

Hunt Seat - Equestrian Club at UCF
The Hunt Seat Team at UCF competes within Zone 5 Region 5 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, which includes all of Florida and Savannah, Georgia. Lesli Isaacson has coached the hunt seat team since 2005 and has had several riders qualify each year for post-season regional, zone, and national competitions.
