2012年12月17日 · My first UDS had temps all over the place and I thought the answer was a temp control fan setup. Well there expensive so I thought maybe build a little better UDS. Small things like a pizza pan defuser a Weber lid and a tighter build made for an UDS that needs no controller. I get it to temp and it stays there for the whole cook.

2013年5月10日 · Hey folks, I've finished the UDS but As I look at it I'm wondering if I set the grates in the wrong spot. I have a flat lid, my first grate is at 4" and the second at 11". My thoughts were to use the top grate for ribs, chicken thighs/drums, steaks, fatties and then use the second grate for brisquet, pork butts, chickens/turkeys.

2011年10月24日 · You have a good question here and I will follow this post myself. I finally bought all of the parts to complete my 1st UDS and I forgot to buy Primer. One more trip back to the store. I suggest that you use a primer too but it really depends on how nice of a paint job you want to achieve.

Something you may consider looking at in the future, so I'll lay out my problems as I see them. I used 1" pipe nipples in three locations around the bottom. Each has a ball valve to control air.

2011年11月24日 · I've got a 55 gallon UDS- I was so happy that a weber dome fit the drum exactly. I could finally put a 2nd grate and double my grate space. I did 4 briskets one time...never did it again. The lower grate will run hotter and you might find yourself wanting to rotate grates a time or 2 during a long cook- or just to wrap.
