2018年2月28日 · The sand dunes of St Ouen’s Bay, and at the heart of the Jersey National Park, are recognised as among Europe’s most important sand dunes. Les Blanches Banques, as they are called, are designated as a site of special interest (SSI) because of their special zoological, botanical, archaeological and historical features.

Boasting a sun-kissed headland, rugged sand dunes and an expansive beach, spectacular St Ouen’s Bay spans almost the entire west coast of Jersey.

The sand dunes set back from the beach create the perfect backdrop setting and if you reach the top of the dune paths you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of St. Ouen’s Bay. Free parking at strategic locations along the Five Mile Road. Visitors can reach the beach via bus route 12a or 22 of the public bus service.

Sand dunes are a unique habitat due in part to the important flora and fauna they contain and are very sensitive and highly threatened habitats throughout Europe. In Jersey, there is a long standing recognition of St Ouen’s Bay as being a ‘special place’, as it is the only large open area of coastal dune remaining in the Island.
