Each building has an information table where University departments or groups may place brochures, flyers, and business cards at the discretion of Housing staff. For examples of recent flyers, visit the Fall 2022 site. Consider using a colorful, eye-catching image (or images) in your flyer. Remember that less is more. Students are unlikely to read a long course description that includes too many details. Put yourself in the prospective student's shoes.

University departments, units, offices, centers, programs, and officially recognized student organizations may display posters, flyers, and table tents, and may utilize other advertising and promotions on campus for activities and events that they sponsor.

Student Group Identity and Branding Guidelines - Is your logo allowed? Large Format Printing (posters): Large documents up to 59 inches in width can be printed in the CMU B60 computer lab for a fee. The Collegiate Licensing Company: Only licensed companies are able to legally print the University's Block "M" and other logos.

Posters, flyers, and signs for outdoor posting will be no larger than 14 inches by 22 inches. Materials larger than 14 inches by 22 inches, should follow the guidelines in the Banners section. Chalking on the Twin Cities campus is limited to members of registered student groups and official University departments or offices.

The Student Unions and Activities and Residence Halls both have an approval process for poster/flyer distribution highlighted below: Subd 1: Student Unions (a) All posters or flyers must be approved through the SUA Welcome Desk, bearing the original stamp of SUA approval.

Outside entities may post an 8.5x11” flyer on the two posting areas located in the Ven Den (Bohannon Hall) and outside of the Superior Dining Center. It is the responsibility of the business to both post AND date the flyer.
